Happy New Year!! “Ring out the ‘old’ – ring in the ‘new’!” Are you ringing out anything ‘old’? More importantly, what are you ringing in that’s ‘new’? A new diet? A new financial plan? A new daily pattern? Whatever you decide, it’s SURE to be successful, right?! After all it IS a New Year – isn’t it? This Tuesday night, millions of people will be tuned-in to see the Ball drop at Times Square! To many, this signifies a fresh, clean slate – and if there’s going be a change, it’s GOT TO BE at that time! Hah, OK – as you’re fixing your eyes on the New Year’s Ball – in all its beautifully-lighted, spherical shape – I’d like for you to focus on the REAL lighted, spherical shape…YOU – you’re spirit/soul (or whatever else you want to call it)!

We are definitely, 100%, unequivocally, positively, undoubtedly (of course, all this is debated, lol), SPIRITUAL BEINGS! The ‘YOU’ is that beautifully-lighted, spherical ball of light – exactly the way God NEEDS us to be if we are to live with Him, afterwards! There is no error, here. I’ve ‘seen’ it. I was it. I know that I AM it! Have I ‘gone off the deep end’? Many people think I have. If you know me then you also know that I don’t drink or take any kind of mind-altering drugs. I’ve been told (by the logic-users, of which I’m one of (I hope!)) that I experienced an absolute hallucination. I apologize to these people in advance but, they’re wrong. I respect their ‘solutions’ to what I experienced when I ‘died’, as I would’ve had a similar opinion before my ‘death’.

The spirit/soul is an absolute, solid truth! You can take it to the bank! If you can know, and see yourself, and everyone else, as a spirit/soul, FIRST, your life will be MUCH different – changed in a way that you couldn’t, wouldn’t believe! You will be more patient, forgiving, hopeful, happy and filled with love! And if I’m wrong (I’m not), wouldn’t you want to be all that, anyway?!

Your spirit/soul – which was created during inception – is, has, and will ALWAYS be with you – for ETERNITY! In fact, it IS you! When your physical body dies, you, yourself, WILL NOT! You will be VERY aware of what you are - in your natural state of being! You don’t/won’t need your body. You won’t even WANT your body; enjoying the peace and freedom, free of ailments, sickness, stresses and worries that you USED to experience (that is if your body doesn’t die ‘on purpose’). That’ll be all behind you! This New Year, please try to understand that your spirit/soul is REAL. Know that you ARE one (a spirit) and so is everyone else (although, many don’t know it!) Focus on THAT 'ball' when the other ball drops this New Year’s Eve! This COULD be the BEST resolution you’ve ever given yourself! Happy New YOU!

Christmas is for Everyone!

Let’s play a game! And, please, be honest with yourself – I’m going to say a phrase and I want you to envision the first thing that comes into your mind. You don’t have to ‘say’ anything, just think. Ready? The phrase is ‘Merry Christmas’ – go! Hah! Your brain probably ‘saw’ a few things come into mind faster than you could read this text, right? Here are some of the most popular thoughts: Santa, Rudolph, Christmas Tree, Presents, Snow, Rankin/Bass TV Shows, Jesus, Christmas Music…uh, wait…WHO? Oh, yeah, Jesus – THAT guy! He’s more towards the end of the vision-list (sometimes, not on it at all). Then, you mean people ‘celebrate’ Christmas and don’t even think of Jesus? Yes, that’s what I mean.

Admit it – you probably thought of Santa almost immediately (doesn’t make you a ‘bad Christian’, it’s just powerful marketing)! Owens-Corning has the Pink Panther, Geico has the Gecko, McDonald’s has Ronald. Christmas has Santa – still a ‘symbol’ of being good, nice and polite – but, has Jesus taken ‘a back seat’ during this time?

The word, Christmas, kinda says it all right there, doesn’t it? CHRISTmas. It’s the time of the Winter Solstice and also the time of year we collectively celebrate the birth of THE man, Jesus the CHRIST, who, prophetically, as told by God, written by the Jews, and proven by Jesus’ life, that HE was the ONLY WAY (through belief in Him) to ‘get into Heaven’ after your body dies! What does the word, BELIEVE, actually mean? Jesus says that ‘if you believe’, your spirit will LIVE, forever, with God in Heaven. So, put aside all your 5 senses (we have more but, let’s just use those common 5) and try to come up with a ‘logical explanation’ to this entire situation. Believe (in other words, can I BE-LIE(ing) -ve to you? Quite difficult, if not an impossible task, to be asked of you! That’s where the ‘faith’ part comes in!

This is – was – God’s plan from the start! He’s only taking those that have FAITH in Him – no one else. No logic involved, here. Is this a sad statement? My goodness, NO! That means all you have to do is BELIEVE and KNOW in this whole CHRISTmas entity – belief in God! Christmas is for EVERYONE – not just those ‘Catholics’, ‘Protestants’ and ‘Jesus Lover’s’ – but, for ALL people! I say the phrase, ‘Merry Christmas’ to everyone! I don’t stop and ask someone’s ‘beliefs’ before I wish my merry love, goodness, peace and hope – which is everything Christmas stands for anyway! I’m not encompassing the greeting with a ‘Happy Holiday’ to you!
If you understand the peace, love and hope that God has bestowed on ALL men, women and children – then ‘Christmas’ is for YOU, TOO! So, in keeping with God’s tradition – Merry Christmas to ALL people!!

Like a Prayer

“Livin’ on a Prayer” – Bon Jovi. “Like a Prayer” – Madonna. “My Prayer” – The Platters (yeah, an old one, but it still works). Not sure if any of these countless artists are actually ‘praying’ but, one thing’s for sure – they used the word. What is prayer? Do you do it? Or is it just the word you use to justify ‘talking to yourself’? Are you really just “talking to yourself”? There is ONE ABSOLUTE THING about praying – read on!

Now, I’m not going to sit here typing a billion stats in this message about the percentages of prayers that ‘work’ (or don’t) and then ‘judge’ the ‘attention of God’ to see if He’s listening to our prayers. “God, please, let my Mom live to 150, please!” “God, if you’re there, you’ll let me win the lottery.” “God, I don’t like that person. Please let something bad happen to them!” Do you really think that God is in the business of doing YOUR will? “Well, then, God can’t be real because He doesn’t answer my prayers!” Here’s an eye-opener – God answers ALL prayers – just not the way YOU want them answered!

The action of praying solidifies ONE THING – it shows, especially to God Himself, that YOU are a TRUE-BELIEVER and KNOWER of God (great way to enter Heaven)!! No matter how many prayers get ‘answered in your favor’, you keep on praying because you and God have a BINDING relationship! I don’t know about you but, ever since my NDE, I pray (talk with God) EVERY MINUTE! How is that possible? I can assure you - it is. I might not be ‘on my knees’, talking out loud, making the sign of the cross (useless anyway – you don’t have to ‘dial God’ before you speak with Him). I talk with God in a quick series of pictures emotions and feelings – He knows EXACTLY what I’m conveying! I don’t wait to pray just on Sundays, Easter and Christmas – it’s constant – a true relationship with God! And I don’t simply ‘use’ Him when I need to – it’s more of a buddy conversation. “How ‘bout that weather?” “How ‘bout them Mets?” (Ok, prayer doesn’t always work)

God is open. He doesn’t close shop – you just don’t shop there, enough. Make it your ABSOLUTE GOAL here on earth – pray as much as you can – anywhere, anytime – even while talking to someone else! Keep that prayer-relationship ongoing with God! And don’t act like a spoiled-brat when you don’t get your way – remember: it’s His way, not yours! The prayer-line to God is open. The line is never busy – you WILL get through! Call NOW - supplies will always last!

The Christmas Feeling

“Bah! Humbug!! Christmas! What am I supposed to be happy about? Everyone just seems so fake! Hypocrites! Blah! It certainly doesn’t FEEL like Christmas! You could quote me on this!” – E. Scrooge. Yes, Mr. Scrooge, we HAVE been quoting you on that very statement; …”it certainly doesn’t ‘feel’ like Christmas…”. Now, in all honesty, what is Christmas supposed to ‘feel’ like? More importantly, what IS Christmas?

The Earth has reached that point in our solar system in what is known as The Winter Solstice. Right around December 21st or 22nd, our planet begins to experience a bit more light, from the Sun, every day – congratulations, we’ve BEAT the DARKNESS!! The ‘light’ has now triumphed over the ‘dark’ and has been born anew! This ‘change’ brings together many different religious beliefs in celebrating the ‘birth’ of their deity – their ‘light’! We hang lights (everywhere), Hanukah is a ‘festival of lights’, Jesus is the ‘light of the world’ – we could go on for a while. Although, Jesus was not born on December 25th, Christians still celebrate His birthday right around the time of the Winter Solstice. OK, enough History Lesson. So, what is this ‘light’, how do I receive it, and where does it come from? Hold on, Virginia – yes, there IS a ‘light’!

People rush about this entire month crossing gifts off their list to experience the act of ‘giving’ to family and friends. We watch Christmas shows on TV, listen to Christmas music, decorate the house – and, to some, it still never ‘feels’ like Christmas. Perhaps you’re going about it the wrong way. Do not – NOT – sit around waiting patiently (or impatiently) for Christmas to come IN to you!! Instead, reverse your feelings – Christmas - YOUR ‘light’ - comes OUT of you! You have to ‘shine your light’, as the saying goes, so other people can ‘bathe’ in the warmness of it, the goodness, the love – and, your 'light' - is extremely infectious!

One additional ‘gift’ you can give this year is the ultimate one – you can’t get it in a store, or buy it Prime on Amazon. It’s the Gift of telling someone that God exists and He’s waiting for you, He wants you and He LOVES you – exactly what Jesus was saying all those years ago! Wizzard sang a song back in the early 70’s, I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day. Guess what – it could be! Show your ‘light’, ALWAYS! Give the Gift, ALWAYS! No gift-wrapping charges, no S&H charges, no purchase necessary. It’s the Gift that TRULY keeps on giving!
